Scania is a leading company in the automotive industry. At Scania I work for a core team that is responsible for developing quality assurance tools in production.
Key responsibilities:
  • Analyzing requirements from customers (production personnel) and forming these requirements into use-cases and Jira tasks.
  • Working cross-functional with different groups and connected systems in order to build interfaces, integrations and data flows between these systems.
  • Defining architectural guidelines and helping team members in following best-practices in architecture design and system development.
  • Designing, developing and maintaining the core quality assurance tools that are used in production. These tools are desktop applications built with WPF and connected to the trucks in production.
  • Maintaining the core legacy system that is a monolith WCF services and making sure it is on high availability for production.
  • Leading the development work towards micro-services with .net core that is intended to replace the legacy system.
  • Leading the development towards cloud-based services in AWS which includes creating CloudFormation templates, building deployment pipelines, and designing core services in AWS.

Worked with the Visa team at the Commercial Bank of Syria. Our mission was to develop interfaces for the core banking system which enabled online banking services. These services included online payments with credit cards and mobile phones. My main responsibilities included designing, developing and deploying interfaces on the banking system using PHP SOAP. The back-end system infrastructure was built on Red Hat Linux which gave me an excellent experience working on bash and command line environments.

I started my career as a web developer at the Syrian ministry of education. With a couple of developers we developed and maintained the official portal of the ministry of education. Our responsibilities varied from maintaining the ministry website, to adding new functionalities when needed using PHP and MySQL. This job also involved data migrations, hosting administration and service monitoring.
